Top homebuilder purchases Smyrna-area lots.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – March 7, 2013 – Scott T. Sohr announces the return of D.R. Horton to the Nashville housing market after a long absence. D.R. Horton is one of the top homebuilders in the nation, reports Scott T. Sohr, demonstrating that the Middle Tennessee housing market is a hot commodity.

According to Scott T. Sohr, D.R. Horton plans to begin development of the properties soon. Homes will be in the mid-200s and will be located in the Smyrna area, less than 25 miles from downtown Nashville. Many Smyrna residents work in Nashville, Scott T. Sohr tells us, while others work in some of the business located in Smyrna, including the Nissan manufacturing plant.

In recent years, interest in the Smyrna area has increased, notes Scott T. Sohr. This is in part due to a nod in U.S. News and World Report in 2007 naming Smyrna one of the best places to retire, says Scott T. Sohr. The Woodmont community where D.R. Horton will be developing is located close to major interstates, with easy access to Franklin and Brentwood, two other areas of Nashville that are popular for industry, according to Scott T. Sohr.

The Woodmont subdivision currently has 200 homes, Scott T. Sohr describes, with room for 600 more. Scott T. Sohr purchased the Woodmont properties seven years ago, adding it to many Nashville-area properties the successful developer already owned. Scott T. Sohr has also expanded into other Southern states, owning prime properties throughout the region.

With this sale, Scott T. Sohr says that D.R. Horton returns to the Nashville area for the first time since 1996. D.R. Horton is a notable homebuilder throughout the country, according to Scott T. Sohr, and was named by Builder magazine as the biggest new homebuilder in the country. The Woodmont subdivision will offer five floor plans from which buyers may select, says Scott T. Sohr, and each will provide D.R. Horton’s signature open, livable spaces. As Scott T. Sohr points out, D.R. Horton believes in providing efficiencies that are unlike those provided by others in the building market.

Scott T. Sohr was pleased to see D.R. Horton acquire the lots, noting that the company has a firm grasp of the Nashville area. According to Scott T. Sohr, many Nashville residents are interested in purchasing property that is both conveniently located and private, providing the peace of rural life with the conveniences available to those living in urban areas.

Scott T. Sohr is a Tennessee-based home developer who began his career in business soon after graduating from Vanderbilt University. In addition to owning this property in Smyrna, Scott T.
