The Balancing Act on Lifetime Television Makes Health Easy in 2013

The Balancing Act

The Balancing Act show features unique ways to be healthy throughout the year.

POMPANO BEACH, Florida – April 1,  2013 – The Balancing Act ® kicked off 2013 with a variety of New Year’s Resolutions-related shows, and as 2013 continues, the popular morning show continues to promote good health. Airing on Lifetime TV each weekday morning, The Balancing Act features segments on cooking, fitness, and overall healthy habits to promote lifelong health for its viewing audience.

Early in 2013, The Balancing Act brought in Lennox Catering’s Chef Dee to demonstrate healthy cooking oils like extra virgin olive oil. These demonstrations illustrated how The Balancing Act viewers can incorporate healthy ingredients subtly into meals to keep an entire family healthy without sacrificing taste. Chef Dee demonstrated a brand of extra virgin olive oil from HojiBlanca that incorporates vitamins and antioxidants while adding flavor to everything from appetizers to desserts, according to The Balancing Act.

Also in January, The Balancing Act featured a segment on cheese. While cow cheese is popular with most families, The Balancing Act pointed out that cow cheese often contains fats that can harm a person’s health. The Balancing Act segment introduced goat cheeses to audiences–pointing out that they not only taste delicious, but are also a healthier alternative to cow’s cheese. These goat cheeses come in nine different flavors to suit every palate, The Balancing Act told viewers, and can be enjoyed not only as part of a meal but as a snack.

The Balancing Act also brought in Navajo Pride’s Roselyn Yazzie, who demonstrated products that are farmed on New Mexico farmland. These products are delicious and healthy, providing the perfect ingredients for meals like blue corn pancakes. Yazzie spent time in The Balancing Act kitchen, where she cooked up delicious, wholesome meals made using Navajo Pride ingredients. In addition to demonstrating her products on The Balancing Act, Yazzie also discussed Navajo history and farming techniques. As Yazzie explained to The Balancing Act viewers, Navajo farmland includes farming of pinto beans, potatoes, wheat, and alfalfa.

For those who prefer to indulge a sweet tooth while still staying healthy, The Balancing Act also featured products from Hi-Chew, a Japanese candy that has been around since the 1930s. As Hi-Chew’s Clay Perkins explained on this segment of The Balancing Act, Hi-Chew is considered “edible gum,” combining the chewy consistency of chewing gum with the edibility of candy.

As 2013 continues, The Balancing Act will offer healthy alternatives to busy moms, so they can keep kids happy while freeing up time for the many other things they have going on in their lives. A production of O2 Media™, The Balancing Act airs on one of the most successful networks on television today, Lifetime Television.
