Book calls attention to issues facing children today, says show’s associate producer Gregory Fake.
POMPANO BEACH, Florida – March 6, 2013 – Gregory Fake, associate producer for The Balancing Act® on Lifetime TV, names Ruby Moon-Houldson among the show’s memorable guests. Moon-Houldson, reports Gregory Fake, wrote a powerful book that discusses two tough issues facing society’s youth today: child abuse and bullying.
Moon-Houldson’s book, More Than Angels, centers on a seasoned investigator who finds herself reexamining her life while investigating a child slave ring, Gregory Fake tells us. A gripping read, More Than Angels, can open conversation between parents and children about bullying and child abuse issues, says Gregory Fake.
A college professor, Moon-Houldson has won awards for her books, which range from fantasy to romantic thriller, according to Gregory Fake. An experienced guest coordinator, Gregory Fake knew the issues would resonate with The Balancing Act’s female viewership, many of whom are mothers. Bullying is a particular issue for parents of children today, notes Gregory Fake, affecting an estimated 13 million school-aged children each year. That figure is almost one-third of all children in grades K-12, according to the National Bullying Prevention Center, says Gregory Fake.
More Than Angels also highlights another serious problem facing society today. As Gregory Fake points out, child abuse includes neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and emotional mistreatment. In More Than Angels, the main character begins to cope with her own childhood abuse as she progresses in her case, relates Gregory Fake. This main character was a victim of abuse as a child and had even become a protector of her battered mother and abused siblings. The case brings out her longstanding issues and as Gregory Fake points out, this is all too often the case as former victims of child abuse grow into adults.
The Balancing Act is a weekday morning show that is geared toward today’s busy woman. Gregory Fake seeks guests who can help enlighten women, whether as parents, wives, or business executives. In addition to touching on pressing issues like the ones spotlighted on Moon-Houldson’s segment, Gregory Fake also books guests that inform women how to be healthier, happier, and more productive. Gregory Fake lines up cooking guests demonstrate fast, inexpensive recipes and fitness experts join the show to discuss prevention of health issues like diabetes and heart disease.
Gregory Fake is a resident of the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area, where he serves as special guest coordinator and associate producer of The Balancing Act®. Gregory Fake obtained his education from the University of Pennsylvania.
