Sigma Alpha Lambda – 6 Core Values

Sigma Alpha Lambda is an organization that aims at helping students and members into service of campus and the community in general. This is a National Leadership and Honors Organization that has its roots in the United States. The organization awards members who have excelled in academics, community service and even those who have shown quality leadership skills. In order to get membership to the organization, a student must have at least a collective 3.0 GPA or more to the level of 4.0. Graduate students can also be members as long as they has excelled as mentioned in the undergraduate class. There are 6 core values that are shared by members of Sigma Alpha Lambda in order for success to be achieved.

Respect- the organization requires that all members value and treat everyone with the highest degree of self-worth together with respect. In this way, members have to learn compassion and concern for other people. People should learn to be sensitive to others needs and feelings in their undertakings.

Community-the organization also emphasizes respect for the campus, the chapter, the community and the world at large. Just like Kyle Thomas Glasser a member of this organization feels, service comes before anything else. The community and the world at large are more important than any particular individual.

Team Work- it is very important to preserve and promote innovation, personal actions, team work and personal improvement within the community. People who work together prosper more than those who work individually. If you are a team player you encourage success and also you learn more as an individual from other people.

Friendship- it is very crucial to nurture friendship with fellow members and above all show a heart of caring as well as kindness to everyone in the community. This means being compassion to other people’s needs at all times.

Honor-this means that members are expected to carry themselves with supreme moral values. Honesty is also a very important goal in everyday undertakings and this is highly encouraged by the organization.

Integrity- the organization requires members to carry themselves with a great level of integrity while taking care of their financial situations amicably.

Kyle Thomas Glasser has been promoting these 6 core values and he works towards achieving these goals. This is what every aspiring member should aim to achieve when joining this organization in future.
